-Excerpts from the tape sleeve-

I began listening to classical music in high school under the influence of friends, and from there my interests gradually expanded to contemporary music, Renaissance music, world folk music, and jazz.

Through that process, I came to feel a strong affinity for music that unfolds modally over a sustained bass tone—such as Indian music. Among the works I listened to frequently, those characterized by continuous electronic drones, as well as records by Takehisa Kosugi and the influence of Catch Wave, have had a particularly strong impact on me.

I also sense that various environmental sounds each have their own fundamental pitch. I once heard a blind person say they “watch” television or “enjoy looking” at scenery, and that left a deep impression on me. I believe it is possible to enjoy, in one’s mind, the subtle color differences between sounds that have specific pitches.
